Eclipsed: Fall Collaborations with the Tamalpa Institute
Covering, Uncovering, and Recovering the Emotional and Responsive Body
Hello my friends,
I am writing to share some news that has me so excited. While I was on my quest this summer, I received an email from Daria Halprin, who is the director and one of the founders of The Tamalpa Institute. She has asked me to collaborate with their online workshop program and to create a series of workshops that blend experiential astrology with the LifeArt® process, which Tamalpa is known for, created by Daria and her mother, the artcestor Anna Halprin.
I am here to share information with you about the first of these workshops and to celebrate this huge milestone for myself, as it is a big honor to be asked to collaborate in this way.
In September, I will be teaching an online workshop with Tamalpa called:
Eclipsed: Covering, Uncovering, and Recovering the Emotional and Responsive Body
Workshop Series Dates: September 13, 27, and October 11 from 9-noon Pacific
Pricing: $180 for all three dates (9 hours), 10% discount for early registration (by August 29) and 10% discount for Tamalpa graduates.
More info below.
transformation by water, 2022
This workshop series is a response to the eclipse season beginning September 7.
Eclipses help us understand what needs to be released, and what wants to develop, specifically in relationship to lunar intelligence— the emotional body.
An eclipse might ask us:
What is ready to be covered or buried?
What is ready to be revealed or exposed?
How can our emotional responsiveness be recovered?
Fall is connected to maturity, water, and the emotional body. We will interact with the internal and external waters to understand our sense of cyclic maturation and the movements of the Sun and the Moon.
This workshop is based on experiential astrology and the LifeArt® expressive arts container as it applies to movement, drawing, and creative writing. There is no right or wrong way to do this workshop. It is a workshop centered on self-discovery within a community of humans, the luminaries of the sun and moon, and the more-than-human beings present in your location.
So, if you’ve been wanting to engage with my work in a deeper way but you live somewhere other than Portland, or if you are curious about the origins of some of my work, here is a perfect chance! Through these workshops, you will also be introduced to the Tamalpa Institute and the work of Anna and Daria Halprin— wisdom-holders and innovators in the field of expressive arts, ritual, social justice, nature-based performance, healing through nature and the body, and many more unique ways of understanding ourselves, each other, and this beautiful world we share.

That's wonderful news Sarah-Lu!! I haven't commented much recently but I've been enjoying your writing and descriptions of your summer quest.
